Career & Community
31 years on the job.
Investigations. Undercover drug work. Keeping the public informed. Holding the office to a higher standard. This is the work that shaped me, and the work I'll bring to Gibson County.

The career
A career built in the field
For 31 years, I've carried a badge in West Tennessee. In that time, I've worked just about every kind of case there is.
Thefts. Burglaries. Assaults. Homicides. Crimes against children. The hard ones, and the ones nobody else wanted.
I didn't learn this work in a classroom. I learned it in the field, on the worst days of people's lives, when they needed someone steady to lean on.
West Tennessee Drug Task Force
Seven years on the drug task force
For about seven years, I served with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force. I worked hundreds of undercover drug operations. That's the kind of work where you don't get a second chance to get it right.
"Illegal drugs fuel the majority of violent crimes in our community."
I saw it with my own eyes. Behind so much of the violence that hurts our families, you'll find drugs. Fighting that fight up close taught me how the real harm starts, and how you go about stopping it.
Public Information Officer
Keeping the public informed
I also served as a Public Information Officer. That meant writing the press releases and making sure the public knew what was going on.
I learned something simple in that job. People deserve straight answers. When you keep folks in the loop, you build trust. When you keep them in the dark, you lose it. That's a lesson I'll carry right into the sheriff's office.
Internal Affairs
Holding our own to the standard
I've also conducted internal affairs investigations. That's the work of holding our own people to the same standard we promise the public.
It isn't easy work. But it's some of the most important there is. If we expect folks to trust the badge, we have to be willing to look in the mirror.
Experience you can stand on
A record that already lives the platform
When I talk about Transparency, Accountability, and Professionalism, I'm not talking about ideas out of a book. I'm talking about how I've already spent my career.
Keeping the public informed. Holding people accountable. Doing the job the right way, every time. That's the office I'll run for you.
Community
This is home
Gibson County isn't just where I'm running. It's home. My family has called this place home for more than five generations.
Serving this community has never stopped at the end of a shift for me. I try to show up for the people and the causes that make this county strong. Here are a few of the ways I stay involved:
- Member of all three Gibson County Chambers of Commerce
- Graduate of the Adult Leadership Program
- Active supporter of the Carl Perkins Center for Child Abuse Prevention
- Helped bring the first Child Advocacy Center to a neighboring county
- Relay for Life participant
- Local fundraisers and programs that support families in need
- Law Enforcement Chair for the MY Prevention Coalition, serving all of Gibson County
- A member at Dorris Chapel Church of Christ, where my family worships
I'm not doing this for a title. I'm doing it for my neighbors, for my grandkids, and for the county my family has loved for generations.
